Question 1. Did Jesus make mistakes?
I've been thinking a lot lately about how often I make mistakes in school and at home.... I was wondering if these types of mistakes (answering a question wrong on a test, repeating wrong information unknowingly) are sins? And if they are sins, then that would mean that Jesus never made mistakes, right? I guess I would just like to know if Jesus, while he was here, would have gone through the experience of having someone correct a mistake he made. I have trouble comprehending how he could "be like us in all things but sin" and understand everything we go through without having had the experience of being corrected. This was just something I was wondering about, it isn't causing me to doubt God or anything, but any help would be appreciated.
Answer 1. If by "mistakes" is meant "sins," then no, Jesus did not sin. But if by mistakes is meant "human error," like missing a nail with the hammer in the carpenter shop and hitting his thumb instead, then yes it is possible. In his human nature, Jesus had to learn just like the rest of us. Luke states: And Jesus increased in wisdom, and in stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52)
